Black Actors Collective – Organisational Development Consultant (2024-2025)
Engaged as a strategic consultant to support the Black Actors Collective, a grassroots arts organisation, with their organisational development and capacity-building efforts. At the start of the engagement, the collective had been operating for two years without formal governance, structure, or administrative systems.
Key Achievements:
Formal Structuring: Guided the collective through the process of becoming a formally constituted voluntary group, laying the groundwork for future registration as a Community Interest Company (CIC). Governance & Infrastructure: Introduced essential governance practices including onboarding processes, membership agreements, and a basic data collection infrastructure to ensure compliance, transparency, and accountability. Funding Development: Researched, developed, and submitted two funding bids tailored to the collective’s artistic and community objectives; one of which was successful, securing financial support for their next phase of growth. Capacity Building: Strengthened the collective’s internal capabilities by advising on sustainable operational models and outlining pathways for future development and professionalisation.
This consultancy has helped position the Black Actors Collective for long-term sustainability and growth, equipping them with the tools and structure to formalise their impact in the creative and cultural sectors.
